CASA SILVA IS THE MOST AWARDED WINERY IN PRESTIGIOUS GLOBAL COMPETITIONS WITH 5 GOLD MEDALS

Viña Casa Silva has been the most awarded winery in The Drinks Business magazine's accredited Global Carménère Masters 2023 competition with seven medals, five of them gold for its exceptional Carménère wines. Viña Casa Silva has once again demonstrated its consistent quality, earning recognition as one of the best Carménère producers in the world.

The wines recognized with the gold medal on this occasion are:

  • Casa Silva Microterroir de Los Lingues Carménère , 2020, Colchagua Valley

  • Casa Silva S7 Carménère 2021, Los Lingues Vineyard, Colchagua Valley

  • Casa Silva Terroir de Familia Carménère 2022, Los Lingues Vineyard, Colchagua Valley

  • Doña Dominga Gran Reserva de Los Andes Carménère 2022, Colchagua Valley

  • Doña Dominga Classic Carménère Family Classic 2022, Colchagua Valley

This first Global Carménère Masters competition, held in London on April 20, brought together a panel of expert judges, including Masters of Wine and Master Sommeliers, to evaluate the best that this variety has to offer on the world market. The judges looked for wines with at least 50% Carménère in their blend and evaluated them against rigorous criteria.

Carménère has a rich history and remarkable quality, with flavors reminiscent of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, offering an exceptional price-quality ratio. This first Drinks Business competition is a sign of the quality that this grape variety has achieved and the possibility of bringing it to new consumers around the world.

Chile, the country that has given new life to this variety, dominated the competition with a great diversity of styles and a notable presence of wines from northern Italy. And Viña Casa Silva, with these new results and the many others obtained, consolidates its position as a leading producer of Carménère wines, recognized for their consistent quality and distinctive character, which also ratifies its recognition as the most awarded Chilean winery of the 21st century.

About the Global Wine Masters

The Global Wine Masters have been rewarding excellence in winemaking since 2013, helping quality brands stand out and consumers drink with confidence. Through its unique structure, which defines categories by grape variety or style rather than region, the competition series allows the world's best wines to compete against each other. Each competition is judged by the world's top palates: Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, and senior buyers.

The Global Wine Masters awards bronze, silver, and gold medals to the wines, and Master medals for the best entries.

The results of each competition are published in The Drinks Business magazine and website (with 13,000 copies in print and 1.9 million page views per month). This broad reach ensures that the medals won by participants are visible to a genuinely international and industry-focused audience.
