Capel, the world’s leading Pisco brand, has partnered with Nimbility to build their markets across APAC.

With a strong initial focus on Mainland China, Nimbility will work with existing distribution partners such as Summergate to support and grow their businesses as well as developing alternative geographic and channel strategies across the country for Capel’s wide range of quality Piscos. A large part of Nimbility’s effort will be to build the reputation of Pisco as a category in APAC, with Capel brands perfectly positioned to showcase the breadth and depth that Pisco has to offer to today’s modern consumers.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Nimbility to bring our award-winning Pisco portfolio to APAC and to drive the expansion and reputation of the category in the region,” says Javier Marcos, Export Director of Capel. “We have already gained some notable success with importers such as Summergate in Greater China and Mottox in Japan, and we are looking forwards to being able to develop and expand this business even further with Nimbility’s team of experts to support sales and brand building activities. In addition, Nimbility will be tasked with expanding distribution for our premium brands which are not currently in market, finding us the right partners and building the Chilean Pisco category with education to trade and consumers, as well as online and offline activations across the region.”

Made from selected grapes, Pisco production in Chile is restricted by the Appellation of Origin Controlled (AOC) which was put in place back in 1931, making it the second oldest spirit appellation in the world after Cognac (protected since 1909). Since 1991 it is also legally protected by Peru. The AOC of Pisco is therefore actually bi-national, belonging to both Chile and Peru as the co-founders of the category. But the two countries have distinct regulations giving an entirely different flavour profile to the spirit itself.
