Klein Constantia Estate Unveils Strategic Expansion into APAC Markets with Prestigious Wine Import and Distribution Partnerships
Klein Constantia and Anwilka, the iconic South African wine estates, proudly announce their strategic expansion into the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, collaborating with five esteemed wine import and distribution companies. This historic venture, a testament to Klein Constantia and Anwika’s commitment to excellence and global reach, is set to redefine the presence of high-quality South African wines in the APAC markets.
In a resounding success for these estates, who partnered with Nimbility a year ago to build their markets and brand in APAC, the wineries will be launching in China with Winelane, in South Korea with Vitis, in Singapore with The Straits Wine Company, in Malaysia with JJ Suppliers, and in Indonesia with PAN Group. These partnerships represent a selection of the region's top importers, showcasing the wineries’ prowess and Nimbility’s powerful ability to secure so many high-calibre collaborators in such a short time frame.
Central to this expansion is Klein Constantia's most iconic wine, Vin de Constance. This renowned sweet wine is set to be positioned in the finest restaurants, hotels and wine clubs across the mentioned markets. Emphasis will be placed on back vintage vertical listings and tasting menu positions, ideally served from Magnum bottles to enhance visibility and reputation. This strategic move aligns with the winery's commitment to showcasing the elegance and uniqueness of Vin de Constance on a global stage.
Hans Astrom, Partner – Vice Chairman of Klein Constantia and Anwilka, will embark on a tour of Asia in April and May this year. He will attend a series of prestigious launch events with the new importers, as well as hosting highly anticipated Masterclasses for Vin de Constance in Shanghai as well as at 67 Pall Mall in Singapore, one of the world's most respected private members' wine clubs. Additionally, Klein Constantia and Anwilka wines will be featured at this year's Vinexpo Asia in Hong Kong, APAC's premier wine and spirits fair.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be launching with so many new importers in APAC in 2024,” says Astrom. “Nimbility has proven instrumental in our mission to find and secure top quality import and distribution partners and they are now working hard on the launch programs to drive awareness and visibility of Klein Constantia and Anwilka in the region. We are really looking forward to working closely with, and supporting, our partners to drive success for them and our brands in the region.”
Klein Constantia's journey, dating back to 1685, is marked by its distinguished legacy and the prestigious stature of Vin de Constance. Cherished by historical figures and connoisseurs alike, this wine embodies the estate's commitment to quality and its aspiration to share its storied heritage with the world. This expansion into APAC is not just a business move but a continuation of a narrative that interweaves history, culture, and the art of winemaking.
Nestled in South Africa's picturesque Constantia Valley, Klein Constantia is additionally revered for its commitment both to tradition and innovation. The estate, known for its cool-climate wines, has garnered international acclaim, solidifying its place as a leader in the wine industry. With its expansion into the APAC region, Klein Constantia is set to bring its legacy and exquisite wines to a new audience, promising an unparalleled wine experience.
“The securing and launching of five new markets across APAC in a year for Klein Constantia and Anwilka is testament to the strength of these brands, the incredible quality of their wines as well as their unique story and, in the case of Vin de Constance, powerful, historical legacy,” says Francesca Martin, Founding Partner of Nimbility. “We are really excited to be launching these stunning wines with these top importers across APAC and bringing new wine experiences to wine lovers around the region.”
